It comes with: 1. The used Cycra plastics kit on it (F & R fenders, Radiator shrouds, vented F number plate) plus a brand new set of these plastics still in the box 2. New stock handlebar, and new grips 3. New Tires with "Extra heavy duty" Maxxis tubes 4. New Chain and Sprockets 5. New rear brake pads 6. New Air Filter 7. New Motocross style hand shields 8. New FMF pipe, with slightly used FMF silencer
There are a few scuff marks on the rear rim.
We can deliver to your door generally for between $400-$600 nationwide, or if you're close to the travel route of my upcoming schools then we can arrange a drop-off meeting point for a cheaper price.
I'm driving from near Charlotte, NC to the upcoming Dirt Wise schools; Meriden CT - Oct 3/4 Ithaca NY Oct 9/10, 11/12 Plus, if anyone is interested in obtaining a piece of Wattsy memorabilia I also have one each of the following used pieces of plastic from last year's race bike that won the Florida round of the GNCCs, with my 2007 graphics on them; Front fender, Rear fender, left and right radiator shrouds. I'll sign them (if you want!) and will cost $10 each, which is to cover the postage and handling cost. Each of these pieces of plastic is thrashed and you would not use them on your bike. They would only be good for hanging on the wall in your shed, or maybe taking up more space in your already packed basement!!! Fall 2008 Dirtwise Riding School Schedule We are stoked to be able to announce that we will be again heading back to Texas for another Dirt Wise Academy of Offroad Riding school, this time in the Dallas area on Dec 13/14. This school adds to the upcoming ones that we have already scheduled: October 3-4 (Friday-Saturday) Meriden, CT October 5 (Sunday) Meriden, CT - Condensed 1 day school (8am-5:30pm). Cost is $250. "Storrie" Time Back to Brian Storrie (my mate who will be hosting the venue for the Texas school) for a bit of a story (boom, boom!) now, or Tex as we call him for obvious reasons. I've known Tex for over ten years now, and our friendship started way back in 1997 when I came to the States to compete in a few select races on the pre-production version of the then all new KTM 125EXC. This bike was a later version of the virtually hand built prototype that I was racing in the World Enduro Championship at the time. That was the year I was able to pull it all together and finally win the Championship. Two weeks before the season started this didn't seem like such a reality, not because I severely doubted my skill or personal preparation, but because when I flew back to Europe and visited the KTM Factory with the great Kari Tianen and his mechanic Kampi (who later was the even greater Juha Salminen's mechanic) to pick up this 125cc bike there was no bike for me. There must have been a little miscommunication at the factory because no one there knew that they were supposed to have this machine ready for me. There was only one of these prototypes in existence at the time and it was in Italy with the powerhouse Farioli team for their rider Stefano Passeri to race, but there was 2 engines at the factory that they were using on the dyno. We left the factory without my bike and some concerned looks on the faces of the technicians there. A few days later my bike shows up with one of the dyno test engines as the powerplant and several other used parts on it that had been reclaimed from the "rubbish bin". The carbon fibre constructed airbox was "soft" and still curing! The bike turned out to be such a weapon and I was able to sweep the first few rounds of the Championship with it and eventually claim the title with still two races remaining for the year. I asked the factory if I could keep the bike as a momento of the year and thankfully they agreed. Same goes for the 1998 production version that I used to capture the overall victory at that year's ISDE. Anyway back to my mate Tex, who now operates the SMS Racing motorcycle dealership in Denton. Essentially, the first time I met him was about a third of the way around the first lap of the 125cc final moto at the US ISDE Qualifier Finals held in Tillamook, OR back in 1997. Tex got the holeshot and was swapping all over the place, basically holding the show up so, seeing as I was right behind him at the time, I decided that it was appropriate to politely stuff him up the inside going into a corner to make the pass and roost away. That was such an awesome event and resulted in my first US National Championship. Later that year at the actual ISDE race in Italy my good mate from back in Oz, Damian Smith rode on the same minute as Tex for the whole event and had a bonza time with him. You could say that the 1997 ISDE was the beginning of the end for me, or more so my left knee because it was there during that final moto in Italy that I first blew out the ACL ligament in my knee. I'd actually crashed early in the race and apparently got mowed over by the trailing field of racers and then got up and was mounting a charge back through the field when I heard and felt that ominous "pop". So I'm carted off to the medical area and I'm laying there waiting for the Ambo to roll up for the trip to hospital when in rushes former US National Enduro champ, the legendary Randy Hawkins who had been in that same race. Apparently he "nailed" me in my earlier crash and thought that he was the reason I had sustained the bodily damage, and was making sure that I knew he was sorry. Class act, that guy. Speaking of Kari Tiainen, he runs some adventure tours in the south of Spain from where he is based. Back in 1997 I went and stayed with him there for a few weeks and there is some magnificent trails there as shown on the following video link: Riding in the South of Spain The conditions in the video epic and it shot in the late winter months of 2008. You can see that Kari (7 time World Enduro Champion) is even piloting one of the new BMW 450 machines. Anyway, it got me thinking about maybe heading over there again to catch up with him and to do some riding at some stage in the future, so combining this with the trail tour operation that he conducts I thought I'd just throw it out there to everyone and see if any of you would be interested, and financially capable, in doing a group tour to southern Spain for some hard core riding. It would probably be a total of 7 seven days, with 4 days of riding, 2 day s of flying, and one day of leisure and sightseeing for around about $3000, including airfares. Again, this is just a thought at the moment but if there is enough interest out there for it maybe I'd be able to pull something together. Well that is it for now, and hopefully we will see you all out on the track or trails sometime soon! Shane Watts
