Round two of the West Coast National Hare Scramble was very unique this year. Usually one of the toughest races we face all year this year was a little different. No MUD!!!! The unusual dry year we are having made this year a dusty and hard pack, with lots of loose unfriendly rocks. I figured with the dry weather we were having we would be down in the gully's pounding serious rock. Nope, It was fast high speed through the dust.
Bang!!! The gun fire's off Garrahan brothers side by side first corner. I think I have the hole shot then some one starts pushing me wide. I start throwing elbows fighting for it then notice it's my brother Patrick snaking my hole shot. Sweet it's on lets go racing. Kyle Summer makes a nice pass on me and I settle into third behind GOT Patrick and Summers. Half way through the first lap Cory Graffunder catches me. He try's to go for a silly pass and puts us both on the ground. This drops me back to about sixth or seventh in the pack.

There was a split at the end of the lap that you could either go the Sally way or the manly way through the enduocross. The top three missed the turn and went Sally. This put GOT Justin Bonita into the Lead. The Kid never looked back and kept it "Wooded" the whole time. Graffunder got in the twenty second range but could never close the gap. This would be GOT Justin Bonita's first National win and certainly not his last. All that GOT training is paying off. "I got the lead and just went for it. I was hitting my lines and blowing #$%@ up"

The rest of us were left in the dust fighting over positions. At one point I pulled over and let like eight people bye. My arms are so tight coming back from my shoulder injury. Once the arms loosened up the dog fight was back on. I passed a few people going on lap three when they stopped for fuel. I hooked up with Mahoney and we had a good little race, then Neely caught us but he kept checking out all the cool rock's Clear Creek has to offer. Once I got bye Mahoney I was pretty far back. I was able to pass everyone back except Jordan Brandt who took third and Great!! ride for GOT Alex Dorsey for a hard fought fourth. I crawled in with a frustrating fifth. My brother GOT Patrick Riding KTM a sixth.

Defiantly have some work to do before the next round, but like I have been telling Justin " If I'm not winning you better be winning"

Super proud of him he is really killing it right now. Go to garrahanoffroadtraining.com to check Justin and I smashing berms and get signed up now, to be the next on top of the box!!
