-Fred Hoess rode a stock Husaberg FE.  Fred works for Dixie Corp. who is the importer of both Gas Gas and Husaberg. Hoess covers all the states East of the Mississippi. He made the trip to Colorado with girlfriend Lacy Jones who had not qualified herself. Hoess already rode TN and OH and secured his spot on a clubteam.

-Hoess and Jones bikes were transported by their friends Bob and Tony Agonis from the Central Jersey Competition Riders. They did arrive after the impound was closed but the Frame twisters made a exception for the Jersey riders. Bob and Tony got messed up with the 2 time zones riding cross county and thought they had enough time to made impound. Fred and Jones were unable to jet they bikes properly due to this.  At least they will be well experienced when the US container arrives just a few hours before impound at the 6 days to come.

-Interesting to see that the event had a international flavor with Matias Lyon from Chile, a entry from Costa Rica and Rob Riley that now lives in the Dominica Rep.  Also some wooden  shoes were heard with Dutch scoring guy Martijn Spliethof of Movit.

-The Frame twisters MC had set out a challenging “Xtreme course” with different size logs, railroad tides and big tractor tires.  The most difficult obstacles had a longer optional route that took about 5 seconds longer.  Most of the top LOI did not shy away of riding the hard stuff.

-Now that the 3 rd Qualifier is in the books things for the junior and trophy team starting to shape up.  Bobbitt, Kamo and Kirkpatrick seem be the to logical choice for the Junior team and have the best scores.  After the total collapse of cooperation from Team Kawasaki (Dietrich, Woods, Abbott) to support their riders for a 6 days and the need for David Pearson to ride the BAJA 1000 for KTM, the US trophy team will not be as strong as it could be.  Caselli and Jarrett seem to have a spot based on their resume.  Kanney most likely too if he decides to go. Nate has to show that he is still a fast promising rider and needs to redeem himself in Chile.  Quinn Cody showed everybody that he can go fast in West Coast condition and with Chile just being like Colorado according to Matias Lyon from Chile, Cody may be the number 4 guy for the team. Hatch showed the AMA that he still has what it takes to do well at the ISDE and may be going as long as KTM does not require him to ride the BAJA 1000.  We are our own enemy here. Not Italy, not Finland, no, the USA is.

-Fun Mart riders Rich Lafferty and Jason Thomas did not show.  The 2 boys were on the road for the last 6 weeks and ran out of money. Rich rode the RORR Enduro (PA) instead which he won .
